Creative work includes screenings at national and international film festivals, independent and broadcast television projects, and gallery exhibitions. Work experience includes collaboration with grassroots organizations and larger institutions including the Getty Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Roosevelt Institute, Human Rights Watch International, among others. Project Description: Above the Ashes is a powerful documentary that reveals untold heroes, the strength of mountain communities and the devastation caused by the catastrophic Fourmile fire that ravaged the mountain communities to the west of Boulder, Colorado.

Project Description: The Accreditation video is a 13 minute 15 second video that highlights areas of excellence and self-study. The video piece was used an introduction the University of Colorado Denver institution accreditation reviewers and is featured on the University of Colorado Denver website. “Good Grief”
Project Description: Good Grief is a seven-episode television pilot or mini series. The dramady takes place thirty minutes before closing time in a coffee shop located on a liberal arts/medical campus. Three Latina sisters and their brother own the coffee shop. Their brother is on military tour in Iraq and will be returning home to Denver, CO in the last episode.

“Trinity ”
Project Description: Trinity combines image metaphors, text and music that relate the apocalyptic nightmare, haunting military power and the twisted memories of the first atomic blast. Archival imagery juxtaposed with original footage shot at the Trinity Site in the White Sands Missile range in southern New Mexico display the fascination with the destructive power of the atomic bomb.

Project Description: A single channel or video/installation piece which addresses the surgical alteration of women’s bodies and the concept of beauty within our society. This project combines projected video, computer generated images and objects. The video is a montage of image metaphors, surgery footage and related audio. The video dialogue consists of interviews from women, children and men concerning body image, diet, plastic surgery, and beauty.

Fine Arts 2015 Intermedia- Intermedia Foundations is an interdisciplinary studio course that is being offered as part of the foundations core for the Visual Arts Department in the College of Arts and Media. This course introduces you to digital technology, visual culture theory, idea development, and interdisciplinary working.
Fine Arts 2415 Typography- A studio course where students will learn the importance of typographic form in a design process including print, interactive design and motion graphics. Projects will be assigned throughout the semester focusing on relationships, hierarchy, meaning and design principles related to typographic form.
Fine Arts 3405 Video for Non-Majors- A studio course for non- design- majors that focuses on the basics of storytelling using digital video. Through class projects, screenings, discussions and readings, students explore the concepts of montage and strategies to develop compelling video for artistic and commercial purposes.
Fine Arts 3414 Motion 1- A workshop devoted to understanding time based imagery that focuses on utilizing video and motion graphics as a creative communication tool. Students will create projects that explore topics using video, animation, time and motion using non-linear digital editing software.
Fine Arts 3415 Design Studio 1- Design Studio 1 is a design laboratory where students learn to turn ideas into visual solutions through the application of design principles. Through lectures, writings, readings, discussion and critiques of projects assigned, students will build visual literacy in relation to digital design.
Fine Arts 3424 Interactive Media- Interactive Media is a workshop exploring how interactive media can be used to convey a message and deliver information. Through critiques of projects, discussion and research, students will learn principles of user interface design, aesthetics and structure including their potential cultural impact.
Fine Arts 3454 Motion 2- An intense workshop-laboratory devoted to using time and motion as a medium for communicating ideas and information. Through creative investigations, readings and discussions students will explore linkages between non-linear editing, animation, and 3-dimensional animation as used in motion graphics.
Fine Arts 4400 Design Studio 3- Design Studio 3 is set up as a collaborative studio course, where students learn to identify problems in the cultural and urban environment and design solutions that address those problems. Through discovery and research students will learn how design can be a catalyst for change.
Fine Arts 3440 Video Explorations- This course focuses on the basics of storytelling using time-based and digital video. Through class projects, video screenings, discussions and readings, students will gain familiarity with the concept of montage and strategies to develop effective video imagery.
Fine Arts 3445 Visible Stories- This course will expand your knowledge of time-based imagery/compositing, DVD authoring and compression. Technically, the class addresses the creation of motion graphics and advanced video techniques.
English 4701/5701 Multimedia in the Community- This course is part of the service-learning initiative. As a service-learning course, you have the option of engaging in research projects with community organizations and with organizational members who have requested specific research papers and digital compositions.
Communications 4290/5290- Web Design- The goal of the Web Design course is for each student to design and construct a series of web pages for use on the World Wide Web. In the process of designing web pages students will experience many facets of multimedia including digital audio, digital video, image manipulation, special effects and scanning.

MFA Visualization Think Tank

The purpose of the Think Tank was to develop and generate ideas for the development of an MFA in Visualization. We met for two days and discussed many key questions tied to art making of consequence, technology, creative industries that include social justice, global issues, and social entrepreneurship. We also discussed career opportunities for students in the MFA visualization program, possible curriculum and the possible structure of the program.

Produced and edited a thirteen minute fund-raising Public Service Announcement. The PSA recently helped to secured a large grant from General Mills. The video is featured on their website.

UC Denver College of Arts & Media’s 10 Year Anniversary Celebration – Art changing lives: yesterday, today and tomorrow I assisted the CAM events committee with planning, creating and participating in the 10 year celebration.
Yesterday- Invited alumni to speak on a panel, to perform, and to meet with students. Created video loops for the Marriott Exhibition that featured alumni work.
Today- CAM Creative Slam, Created four unique video pieces
for the event.
Tomorrow- Assisted with organizing Dome 360 event which was an evening of breathtaking imagery, surround sound and visual immersion presented in collaboration with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the University of Colorado Denver College of Arts & Media.
